New papers are welcome, in addition to the papers arising from the previous ISVS seminars and the forthcoming ISVS-15 in Nepal. More papers from the ISVS 14 on "Traditions, Cultural Heritage and Design Interventions: Understanding Vernacular Heritage and Engaging in Design Practice" will be published in the coming issues.

ISVS-15 will be hosted by the Kathmandu University in Nepal. It will be a great event. Although it was initially planned to be held in Egypt and then in Bahrain, it has been moved due to the current conflict unfolding in the Middle East. We will return to Egypt and Bahrain later. Please await the announcements.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Asian School of Knowledge has launched a new conference titled "Asian International Conference on Design Research" (AICDR), first of which was held in Sri Lanka from 22-23 August 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The theme was 'Understanding the Nexus between Design and Research," with sub themes "reserach for design," 'research about design," and "research by design." It was a great success.

This is a ground breaking new area of research, although most of you are already involved in doing them without being fully aware of how they produce new Knowledge. Some of the activities you are engaged in the design studios can thus be transferred into reserach papers, presented and published, as new knowledge.
